Caring People had it's start in 1987.  Our founder, Hannah Shulman, began Caring People as a domestic employment agency servicing clients in Queens, NY from the basement of her home in Flushing.  Hannah placed high priority on the quality of the caregivers she hired, always making sure to match the best caregiver available with the client. 

Hannah's grandson, Steven East, joined her in 1998.  Steven worked side by side with Hannah, taking time to learn all he could from her, understanding her values and how she applied them professionally.  Shortly after Steven joined his grandmother, the request for "Senior Nannies" increased.  As a result of increase in those requests, Steven began to research homecare for seniors and start the process for licensing Caring People in New York.  While waiting on the Department of Health License in New York, he also began the application process in New Jersey. A year after licensing, some clients were headed to Florida for the winter and wanted to keep their caregiver. Steven responded by heading to Florida to research homecare and the licensing process. Shortly after, Caring People established an office there as well.  Within 2 years, Caring People was fully servicing seniors in NY, NJ & FL and fully licensed in each state.

Since Hannah's passing in 2005, Steven has continued her legacy through Caring People's model of service delivery.  Despite the fact that Hannah never witnessed the emergence of Caring People as an industry leader, her compassion, commitment to quality and responsive service still guides all of the dedicated Caring People staff and caregivers.  Steven continues to seek out the best and most qualified caregivers and support staff.  Caring People provides client centered care and maintains intimate relationships with our clients and their loved ones.  This is an integral part of what has lead Caring People to stand out from the crowd since it's inception.
